Mix It Up with Fun Drink Recipes for Your Vacation

04 May 2018   |   By: Chauncey Smith

A Pawleys Island vacation is all about relaxation, and what says that more than a frosty drink while watching the waves roll in along the beach? Skip the Kool-Aid and pre-mixed cocktails on your next trip to Pawleys Island and try some of these great recipes for instant refreshment!

Watermelon Lime Cooler

Two of the best flavors to savor during summer are watermelon and lime, so why not combine them into a delectable concoction? This delicious recipe combines four cups of seedless, frozen watermelon with a 1/4 teaspoon of lime zest and two cups of ginger ale (any brand will do, but for extra bite try Red Rock or Boylan). Simply combine in a blender and process until nice and slushy, then enjoy! Repeat as necessary for as many servings as needed and serve in a chilled glass for extra frosty enjoyment.

Frosted Lemonade

Sure, a milkshake might not be the go-to beverage for beach sipping, but frosted lemonade? That's a combo that is light, citrusy and perfect for a hot summer afternoon! For the lemonade, mix a cup of lemon juice, a 1/2 cup of sugar and two cups of water, stirring together in a large pitcher. Next, partner your lemonade with six cups of vanilla ice cream in a blender and blend until creamy and smooth. This recipe yields three servings but be sure to keep the blender plugged in as everyone is sure to want their own!

Non-alcoholic Sangria

For a fruity and tasty treat that can be made in a large batch for a group, there's no way to go wrong with this delicious non-alcoholic sangria! This drink can be made with either sparkling water for a lighter taste or lemon-lime soda for more sweetness (in other words, for the kids). Combine two cups of both cranberry and grape juice, one cup of orange juice and a 1/2 cup of lemon juice and pour into a large pitcher over orange and lime slices and cranberries. Refrigerate until cold then before serving mix in four cups of sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. This vibrant and fruit-filled treat is sure to delight everyone in your group!
